Carol Miriam Nixon

With over twenty years of experience in housing and community development lending, Ms. Nixon heads the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust's office in New York City. She works actively with the Trust's New York partners to facilitate housing and economic development investment opportunities. Prior to this position, Ms. Nixon served as the Trust’s Chief Investment Officer - Single Family Finance and as Director of Public Finance, responsible for originating, negotiating and underwriting multifamily investment opportunities for the Trust.

Before coming to the Trust, Ms. Nixon worked for the Bank of America, FSB, Community Development Division and was responsible for affordable housing financing provided by Bank of America in the region that spanned from Southern New Jersey to Richmond, Virginia. She also worked as a Loan Officer for Enterprise Mortgage Investments, Inc., a Fannie Mae Special DUS Lender.

Ms. Nixon holds a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Northeastern University and a Master's of Science degree in Real Estate Investment and Appraisal Theory from the University of Wisconsin.
